A few words from the CEO

A few words from the CEO, Ash Rai

Firstly, can I send my thanks for your patience during what has been a very difficult time for our staff. We have been overwhelmed with your support and kind words, which have gone far in lifting the teams spirits during these challenging days.

As of Friday 20th March, the Government officially closed all Leisure Centres, which has enabled us to gain a better position in protecting our staff team’s employment and the business we have all worked so hard in building. These are still very challenging times, and we are calling on our customers to stand by us and help us get through this together.

We are a not for profit charity, and therefore we do not have big shareholders and large financial reserves. We reinvest all surplus income to improve the service we deliver to our customers. For those of you, who have offered to make donations to support the charity, please accept my wholehearted thanks. Many of you have enquired on ways to support our charity to ensure we are able to bounce back post-Covid-19 and in response, we are looking into ways in which you can do this.  More news on this to follow.

As an organisation, we have followed all government advice and all employees are now being asked to stay at home. Those who can work from home will be doing so. We ask that during this period you extend us your continued patience. We will endeavour to respond to all enquiries as soon as we are able to, but levels of response times may be longer than normal.

Memberships & Swim School: all Direct Debit payments are being put on hold for April. You do not need to cancel your payments with the bank; our teams will make all the necessary changes. Should the closure be extended past April, then the payments will be suspended to follow this guidance.

We are currently receiving a large volume of enquiries regards swim school and memberships, which the team are working hard to get through. Again, your patience is welcomed and gratefully received.

We are aware of the fact that our temporary closures may adversely affect your health and well-being and with the Coronavirus concerns, this is a double worry. Our teams are looking at how we can continue to offer you physical activity services online. We do not have this resolved yet but please keep an eye out for notifications over the coming days.

Look after yourselves and your families. Follow public health guidelines and when we open again, which we will do - come back and see us again!
