Reopening FAQs

Following the announcement of the Governments 4 step plan out of lockdown we are pleased to announce we will be reopening our outdoor facilities from Monday 29th March, this means we will be able to offer outdoor fitness classes, track sessions and club use of both pitch and track.

·       From Monday 12th April we will be able to open our gym facilities.

·       From Monday 17th May indoor group fitness classes will restart.

·       From Monday 24th May we will start to recommence indoor sports.


We can’t wait to see you all! so we can keep you all safe here is how the centre will operate during this stage of opening.

How will you control attendance numbers?

As part of Covid-19 Secure re-opening measures and leading industry guidance, online pre-booking will be required for all activities to manage attendances numbers.

Members will be able to pre-book 7 days ahead from midnight. Members can cancel a pre-booked session online up to 4 hours before the start of each session. 

How do I book a session?

You can book all activities via our website, simply click on the book online section.

What if I can't attend a pre-booked session?

If you cannot attend a pre-booked sessions you can cancel this up to 4 hours before the start of each session.

Is Ryland COVID secure?

Yes, we follow UK Active, National Governing Bodies and Department of Culture Media and Sport guidance to ensure the building, staff and it’s customers are as safe as possible in a COVID secure environment. We also engage an independent Health & Safety advisor to conduct COVID secure inspections prior to opening and when we are open.

All COVID secure measures will remain in place during this stage of re-opening;

•            Observe Social distancing on your visit

•            Use the hand sanitizers upon entering and leaving the building and during your visit

•            Do not attend the centre if you or your family are unwell with COVID symptoms or have had a positive COVID test.

•            Clean equipment before and after use

•            Observe the one-way systems in place upon entry and exit to our facility and we ask that you support us in adhering to these systems.

Do I need to wear a face covering?

Current Government and local Public Health guidance for leisure operators requires all customers to wear a face covering when entering the facility and moving between common areas these include in reception areas, changing rooms and toilets, corridors & stairways, spectating areas and when entering and leaving fitness studios and the gym.

However, you do not and should not wear your face covering whilst exercising.

If you have a medical condition which restricts you from wearing a covering, please let a member of the team know.

As per Government guidelines children under 11 are not required to wear face coverings.

Will changing rooms be available?

Members and customers will have access to toilet and hand washing facilities. Unfortunately there will be no access to our changing or locker facilities.

What if I’m not ready to return yet?

From Monday 12th April your memberships will be reactivated to include the access to the gym, running track, outdoor fitness sessions and online fitness classes. If you wish to remain suspended and not reactivate your membership at this time please email our membership team memberships@slt-leisure.co.uk  no later than Wednesday 31st March requesting to continue your membership suspension.
